Peggy Lipton was an American actress and model who was the best-known for her role as flower child Julie Barnes in the ABC counterculture television series The Mod Squad directed by Scott Silver. For which Peggy won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. The star of the hit television show “Mod Squad,” died on May 11, 2019, Los Angeles, California, United States at the age of 72.
Peggy Lipton died of cancer that was announced in a statement from her daughters, Kidada Jones, and Rashida Jones who said she “made her journey peacefully with her daughters and nieces by her side.” The actress Peggy came into media spotlight playing undercover police officer Julie Barnes in the series Mod Squad with casts Michael Cole, Clarence Williams III, Peggy Lipton in a direction of Scott Silver which ran from the year 1968 to 1973 on ABC Network. That role helped her to earn four Golden Globe nominations and one win for Best TV Actress in a drama. Moreover, Lipton also starred on the television series “Twin Peaks” as Norma Jennings
Peggy Lipton’s Married Life & Daughters
Lipton was previously married to Quincy Jones from (1974 – 1990). Quincy is an American record producer, musician, composer, and film producer as well. He married Lipton after two unsuccessful marriage from Ex-wives Ulla Jones (m. 1967–1974), Jeri Caldwell (m. 1957–1966).
Lipton and Quincy shared together daughters named Kidada and Rashida, who is known for her roles on the comedy series “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation.”
